8 Beauty YouTubers you need to follow

During lockdown it’s safe to say we’ve all got a LOT of time on our hands right now and YouTube is a treasure trove of education and entertainment, thanks to its standout beauty stars. There’s nothing quite like finding yourself down a YT rabbit hole and learning a fab new makeup trick, discovering a brand new product, or having a good old lol at some quality to-camera bants.

Jackie Aina
I’ve been a fan of Jackie Aina since she debuted her infamous “Jackie! Jackie! Jackie!” intro. She’s super entertaining to watch and has one of the best make application tachniques, IMO. She’s unapologetically herself, isn’t afraid to call out double standards in the industry and has an awesome sense of humour. bh’s Jameela
Caroline Hirons
I’m currently having a YouTube obsession with UK beauty influencers because although they obviously provide sponsored content, they are not afraid to tell it like it is. The most extreme example is skincare expert and aesthetician Caroline Hirons, who’s not afraid to go in on a brand or product if it’s making exaggerated claims or isn’t worth the money and shares really useful advice around ingredients and application. bh’s Megan
Sammy Robinson
I love YouTubers with a good balance – lots of beauty but also a wider window into their lives. It’s the reality TV addict in me. I’ve been following Sammy since the beginning – I feel like we’re friends (lame I know). Now, she’s amassed over 1.4 million followers across her platforms, by just staying true to herself. In addition to her beauty content, I love watching her wellness and home vlogs. bh's Erin
Lisa Eldridge
I love Lisa Eldridge - she was one of the OG beauty you tubers and despite working with a lot of major brands over the years still keeps it real and relatable for the ‘non pros’ like me. Her look is always so wearable and always flattering, and is never cluttered by the noise of crazy trends. bh’s Helene
Nadine Baggott
There’s not a massive amount of beauty content for over 45’s on You Tube that doesn’t make me seriously cringe but there is Nadine Baggott. The #NoFaceTune #NoFilter health and beauty journo has been in the biz for almost 30 years and is a wealth of knowledge. She’s a great one to watch for finding out the best beauty bargains or ‘high street finds’ and has some hilarious ‘beauty hags’ and ‘spa slags’ sections where she banters with other well-known UK beauty buffs who I admire for keeping it real. bh’s Tracy
Desi Perkins
I initially discovered Desi a few years ago, after stumbling upon her unreal Halloween makeup tutorials when looking for work party inspo. I’ve loved watching her ever since and especially love the relationship between her and ultimate BFF/ fellow YouTuber Katy. With 3.3m followers, her own Quay sunnies line and being flown all over the world for launches, she’s basically now a celeb in her own right, but is still super down to earth and isn’t afraid to laugh at herself. bh's Amy
ReallyRee
I love Ree, who tries out lots of products and swatches and talks about them in a useful easy to understand way. Her application technique is straight forward rather than really technical which can be useful if you don’t want to create a heavily contoured eyeshadow look in 200 easy steps, Lol! bh’s Megan
Nikkie Tutorials
With a MAJOR 13.3m subscribers, Nikkie has risen the ranks as one of the most popular and influential beauty YouTubers. While she's been in the game for years, she garnered major attention from her video called The Power of Makeup, which was that now iconic side-by-side of her face half with make up and half not. I love that she's funny and super authentic and had so much admiration for her coming out as transgender earlier this year. She's now doing eps where she does celebs' make up - Gaga and Kim K, you may have heard of them - plus has even had Snoop narrate one of her vids. bh's Amy

Which YouTube accounts fo you follow and love?

I started watching some YouTube videos to watch people put on make up to learn new techniques, I learned a few things then got bored. There are some really good videos out there but I will never be a regular viewer of them so I don't need to follow anyone.
