Look less tired: Best makeup tricks for new mums
Most new mothers will attest to the fact that they’ve never experienced tiredness like the first few months caring for a newborn. No matter how much of a party animal you once were, nothing can prepare you for the bone-aching and truly relentless fatigue – and unfortunately it's probably going to show on your face.

Where does sleep deprivation show the most?
Skin and eyes predominantly - under eye bags with dark crescents and dull skin are the usual tell-tale signs.
What are your top tips for disguising it and looking more presentable and ‘awake’?
Wear an illuminating primer under foundation or opt for a foundation or BB Cream with illuminating properties.
To disguise dark circles, select an under eye concealer that is a couple of shades lighter than your base. A pale-toned or white eyeliner applied to the inner water rim will help disguise red rims, making eyes appear wider.
You could also apply a dot of cream shimmer eye shadow to the inner eye corners to brighten and open the eyes up.
Can you suggest a five-minute face for new mums?
A BB Cream or cushion foundation is a great way to get soft, illuminated coverage quickly. Blend a little concealer under the eyes then apply a soft wash of blush to the apples of the cheek and over the eyelids. Finish with mascara and a bright or pretty lipstick or gloss.
Skin can change during pregnancy, with hyperpigmentation, acne, rosacea often rearing their heads. How can these be covered up effectively?
All of these issues can be covered with concealer – the trick is to find or blend concealers that match your base. If redness is a problem then apply a primer or concealer with a green base prior to applying normal concealer. It’s also important to cover only where needed to avoid looking overly made up.
If time is a huge factor, mineral foundations can give good coverage without looking too mask-like with the added bonus of not irritating blemishes further.
