The surprising blush colour A-listers are obsessed with
L-R: Paris Jackson, Kerry Washington, Constance Wu, Kate Bosworth.
When we clocked celebs on the red carpet at the Oscars and its after parties this year, there was a surprising makeup common denominator we wouldn't have previously predicted, but we're also kind of obsessed with.
Everyone from J Lo to Chloe Moretz, Chrissy Teigen and then some, were rocking a youthful flush of peach blush. Paris Jackson wore hers with an intense smoky eye, while Kate Bosworth matched her cheeks and lips, then topped it off with metallic gold eye shadow, showing it's versatility.
It's a colour that often gets overlooked in our collection, so seeing all of these women wearing it to such a high-profile event reminded us of the ways it's such a great option to have in our beauty repertoire, whether it's just going about our business during the day or for a high-glam event at night:

1. It's youthful
Skin loses its natural radiance and luminosity as we age, and peach plays on the natural undertones present (or previously present) in our skin. When placed high on the cheek bones it instantly provides a brightening glow.
2. It's universally flattering
Almost anyone can put on a peach blush and look stunning, but it does work particualarly well on the ends of the skin tone spectrum, for example very fair or deep tones. If your skin has golden undertones where pale pink won't work, even better. It's the warmest pastel option, so it also works in place of bronzer in the winter months. To find the peach shade that suits you, the fairer your tone, the softer the colour should be, the darker your tone, the deeper you can go.
3. It's hard to overdo
The best peach blush formulas tend to be fairly sheer and easy to build up slowly so it's unlikely you'll look OTT. What we also love is that they give skin a hint of radiance without adding excess shimmer. Some formulas are shot through with understated reflective particles but our favourites are matte and buttery soft, easy to sweep on with a dense, domed blush brush.
4. It's a multi-tasker
Peach blush can easily be applied to your eyelids for an on-trend monochromatic look that brightens the entire eye area.
